My approach to working as a psychologist is founded on both evidenced based theory, and my life experiences. With a background of over 25 years practicing and teaching in the mindfulness and yoga traditions, I use a range of evidenced-based approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, and Metacognitive Therapy in practice. The approaches used are tailored to support each client with consideration to the individual’s age and presentation.
I work from the perspective that all people have the ability to find their individual way to happiness and meaningful change, with some help along the way. I am passionate about helping all people (children, adolescents, and adults) find ways to build on their own strengths and resources.
I work at Wisdom Health and also as a School Psychologist. I work with adults, couples, adolescents, and children, who may be experiencing a wide range of psychological difficulties related to various forms of anxiety, (posttraumatic stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias, panic), depression, stress, grief and loss, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, alcohol and other drug use, and self harming behaviours.
I also specialise in developmental, academic and educational issues: Carrying out assessment, reporting, and intervention planning in relation to learning difficulties, developmental concerns, attention disorders, and behavioural problems.
I am registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and the Psychology Board of Australia, and I am a member of the Australian Association for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, carrying a working with children card.
