Our psychologists are all fully registered with the Psychology Board of Australia. They adhere to the strictest ethical and professional standards, which can be downloaded here.
Training and Education
All of our psychologists are highly trained, having completed postgraduate degrees in Psychology. This means that they have 5-6 years of training as well as ongoing supervision and professional development to ensure treatments are up-to-date and evidence-based.
Our Mindfulness practitioners’ have advanced training and experience in mindfulness based therapies and have studied with the founder of Mindfulness, Dr Jon Kabat- Zinn.
Award winning research
Co-founder of Wisdom Health, Rob Schütze was awarded the 2007 “Australian Psychological Society Prize” for his research into Mindfulness and chronic pain. This research was published in the high impact medical journal, Pain [Schütze, R., Rees, C., Preece, M., & Schütze, M. (2010). Low mindfulness predicts pain catastrophizing in a fear-avoidance model of chronic pain. Pain, 148, 120-127]. This research also won the Australian Pain Society’s “Best Poster” prize at the Spectrum of Pain conference in 2008. Rob has also been awarded the Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Psychologists Student Prize, for ‘overall excellence in the application of a Scientist-Practitioner model in research, coursework and placements during a postgraduate clinical psychology degree’.
Living mindful lives
The founders of Wisdom Health and each of our clinicians live the ethos of mindfulness in their everyday lives, with daily meditation, yoga and mindfulness practice. As such they bring a deep well of compassion, empathy and care to those who come to Wisdom Health.
