This is the most common format for the delivery of psychology services. Sessions are usually 50 minutes at a time and are conducted in a comfortable, sound-proof room. You will be matched with a psychologist who is best placed to help with your unique situation. Individual counselling involves first assessing your particular problems or needs, setting goals, and deciding on a treatment plan. There will often be tasks to practice at home between sessions, which are usually weekly to begin with. The goal of therapy is usually to develop skills that help you to better understand your situation and manage your mental health more effectively.
If you want to attend any of the Mindfulness Based programmes but are unable to make the specific times, they can be completed as a one-on-one programme at a time that best suits you.
